This is a small but fascinating cave, on lava 1792/3, accessible from a hole created by a collapse in the vault. The hypogeum is a portion of a lava channel, blocked upstream and downstream. The part that can be visited is a fairly large room. Thanks to the influx of sunlight and humidity there is a notable presence of ferns and mosses. In the lower part of the channel, which gradually lowers until it becomes blocked, a fresh nest made of grasses commonly found in the area was found. Hence the name considered more appropriate. At the time of the survey there were no common signs of human passage, men or other. It is assumed that it was known by shepherds passing through the area.
