The Etna Sunset excursion is one of the most evocative summer tours, as it allows you to visit, moving between one stop and another, some of Etna's most interesting places under the soft lights and milder afternoon temperatures.
Tasting of typical products
Before starting your adventure, you'll be invited to our tasting of sweet and savory Etna specialties, from the famous Zafferana honey to Nocellara dell'Etna olive oil, from sweet pistachio and dried fruit jams and spreads to savory pestos.
Climbing through ancient lava flows and woods
After meeting the guides for a short briefing, we'll begin the climb up the roads that wind toward the volcano. Along the way, we'll cross ancient and recent lava fields which offer surreal landscapes ranging from barren lava flows to forests rich in vegetation up to 2000 metres above sea level.
Viewpoint of the Valle del Bove
We will then move to the viewpoint of the majestic Valley of the Ox, A spectacular and incredibly important geological site for the history of Mount Etna. This natural amphitheater was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013. If you've chosen the 4x4 tour option, we'll reach this stop via a fun off-road route.
Visit to the Volcanic Cave
Etna is rich in caves created within lava flows. We will let you experience the thrill of descending into the volcano's depths by visiting one lava flow cave (lava tube) equipped with helmets and speleologist lights, to understand the phenomena connected to the flow of lava.
Lateral craters in Easy Trekking
A key stage will be the visit of an area rich in extinct craters Reachable via a simple 1km hike at an altitude of 2000 meters. Here, you'll have the opportunity to learn about the volcanic phenomena and the natural environment that make our region unique.
AperìDolce at Sunset
The tour ends with a ““Aperìdolce”, A taste of typical sesame and almond biscuits and Zibibbo wine (Sicilian portions...). While savoring these delicacies, we'll greet the sun as the sky lights up with incredible colors of the most diverse hues.

Our tours include transfers by minibus or 4x4 from our meeting point. You can request a shuttle service from our meeting point in Catania (Piazza Borgo) or from your accommodation in Catania Province/Mount Etna Villages, ACIREALE, GIARRE, GIARDINI NAXOS, or TAORMINA. Prices start from €20 per person. This service can be requested on the online booking form, where you will also find a detailed estimate.

Appropriate equipment is required for our tours. For those who need to rent hiking boots, windbreakers, and more, we have a well-stocked rental shop at MontataGrande. However, we recommend pre-ordering everything you need when booking online.

The rates shown are for a standard tour, which involves sharing a guide and vehicle with other people. Fixed departure times are also available. If you have special requirements, we can offer a private tour, with your own vehicle and guide. This provides greater flexibility in scheduling and accommodates personal needs, such as small children or elderly guests.

Sneakers, sunglasses, windbreaker/sweatshirt, water. If you need it, you can take advantage of our rental where you will find shoes, jackets and more.

What can I rent?
At our meeting point in Trecastagni, you can rent trekking shoes, insulating jackets, trekking poles and request child seats for children up to 3 years old. You can book the equipment in the online booking form

Can I bring my dog?
On this excursion it is NOT possible to bring your 4-legged friend. We recommend that you consider taking part in one of our trekking excursions.
