The Etna 4x4 Tour is one of the most popular excursions. The tour includes a multi-stage itinerary that alternates 4x4 travel with off-road trails and some walking, allowing you to appreciate the natural wonders of Etna Park.
Climbing through ancient lava flows and woods
After meeting the guides for a short briefing, we'll begin the climb up the roads that wind toward the volcano. Along the way, we'll cross ancient and recent lava fields which offer surreal landscapes ranging from barren lava flows to forests rich in vegetation up to 2000 metres above sea level.
Lateral craters in Easy Trekking
A key stage will be the visit of an area rich in extinct craters Reachable via a simple 1km hike at an altitude of 2000 meters. Here, you'll have the opportunity to learn about the volcanic phenomena and the natural environment that make our region unique.
Viewpoint on the Valley of the bove
We will then move to the viewpoint of the majestic Valley of the Ox, A spectacular and incredibly important geological site for the history of Mount Etna. This natural amphitheater was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013. If you've chosen the 4x4 tour option, we'll reach this stop via a fun off-road route.
Visit to the Volcanic Cave
Etna is rich in caves created within lava flows. We will let you experience the thrill of descending into the volcano's depths by visiting one lava flow cave (lava tube) equipped with helmets and speleologist lights, to understand the phenomena connected to the flow of lava.
Tasting of Etna specialties
Our Etna Tour ends with a tasting which includes the tasting of many typical Etna sweet and savory products, from the famous Zafferana honey to the Nocellara dell'Etna oil, to the sweet jams and spreads with pistachios and dried fruit, to the savory pestos.

Our tours include transfers by minibus or 4x4 from our meeting point. You can request a shuttle service from our meeting point in Catania (Piazza Borgo) or from your accommodation in Catania Province/Mount Etna Villages, ACIREALE, GIARRE, GIARDINI NAXOS, or TAORMINA. Prices start from €20 per person. This service can be requested on the online booking form, where you will also find a detailed estimate.

Appropriate equipment is required for our tours. For those who need to rent hiking boots, windbreakers, and more, we have a well-stocked rental shop at MontataGrande. However, we recommend pre-ordering everything you need when booking online.

If you have special requirements, we can offer a private tour, with your own vehicle and guide. What should I bring?
Hiking shoes (recommended) or sneakers, sunglasses, windbreaker/sweatshirt, water. If you need them, you can take advantage of our rental shop where you'll find suitable shoes, jackets, and more.

At our meeting point in Trecastagni, you can rent trekking shoes, insulating jackets, trekking poles and request child seats for children up to 3 years old. You can book the equipment in the online booking form

Can I bring my dog?
On this excursion it is NOT possible to bring your 4-legged friend. We recommend considering taking part in a trekking tour.
