During Etna's eruptions, the formation of volcanic caves (lava tubes) is very common. This fascinating phenomenon occurs when a lava flow has time to better structure its descent into the valley, creating veritable rivers of lava, complete with channels and banks, often forming underground passages. Inside the caves, an incredibly fascinating environment is created. This tour focuses on visiting several volcanic caves (at least three) in half a day. The guides will select the caves to visit based on the participants' physical abilities. You will be provided with lights and a speleologist helmet. You should bring gloves to avoid possible abrasions from accidental contact with the rocks. The tour

Our tours include transfers by minibus or 4x4 from our meeting point. You can request a shuttle service from our meeting point in Catania (Piazza Borgo) or from your accommodation in Catania Province/Mount Etna Villages, ACIREALE, GIARRE, GIARDINI NAXOS, or TAORMINA. Prices start from €20 per person. This service can be requested on the online booking form, where you will also find a detailed estimate.

What should I bring?
For this excursion, trekking or tennis shoes are mandatory only in the 4x4 itinerary solution. Also recommended are: gloves, windbreaker/sweatshirt, water. If you need them, you can use our rental where you will find shoes, jackets, sticks and more. Helmet and speleo lights will be provided by our organization.

What can I rent?
At our meeting point in Trecastagni, you can rent trekking shoes, insulating jackets, trekking poles and request child seats for children up to 3 years old. You can book the equipment in the online booking form.

Can I bring my dog?
On this excursion, you can bring your 4-legged friend only on some itineraries (outside the A zone of the Park). However, it should be considered that not all dogs may be able to enter closed spaces such as caves. We recommend that you consider participating in the exclusive formula, to have maximum autonomy and because the presence of the dog could influence the group's choices. Report the presence of your faithful friend to the secretariat during the booking phase.
